ABOUT US

Virginia Beach Postal Federal Credit Union was chartered on April 5, 1963 to accommodate the financial needs of Virginia Beach Postal Employees. In 2019 we expanded our field of membership to include all United States Postal Service Richmond Virginia District employees. Whether it’s providing a loan to help a member cover unexpected bills, give financial counseling to a member or simply offering a better deal on a vehicle loan, we take pride in our membership and treat our members on a friendly personal level. Credit unions’ make a difference for their members and that is why we love the credit unions motto “People helping People”.

MISSION STATEMENT

Virginia Beach Postal Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution, exists to provide a wide range of quality services, which meet member needs. The credit union’s intent is to encourage savings and provide loans in a personal and professional manner while ensuring sound financial management to safeguard member assets.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership to Virginia Beach Postal Federal Credit Union is limited to those having the following common bonds:

  • Employees of the U.S. Postal Service, Richmond District who work in, or are paid or supervised from Richmond, Virginia;
  • Members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) Chapter 974 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, who qualify for membership in accordance with its charter and bylaws in effect on 4/28/2011;
  • Members of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 6066 in Chesapeake, Virginia, who qualify for membership in accordance with its charter and bylaws in effect on 9/1/1992;
  • persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the United States Postal Service;
  • Employees of Mechanical Service Company Inc, Absolute Bottled Water Co, or Shealy-Hodges Corp;
  • members of their immediate families including spouses, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, and persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit to include domestic partners and roommates.

Joining the Credit Union is easy!

Just follow the steps below to get started towards enjoying the benefits and privileges of membership:

  1. Complete and sign a Membership Application
  2. Return completed and signed application to Virginia Beach Postal FCU
    1. If returning by mail provide a copy of a valid U.S. Government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID), a copy of your USPS employee photo ID or your most recent employer payroll check stub, and your initial deposit* payable to VBPFCU.
    2. If coming to the credit union office, bring membership application, a valid U.S. Government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or military ID), your Social Security Number card, and your initial deposit*.

*Minimum initial deposit is $5.00
